An assailant, who was affiliated with the same organization, killed 34 people in the attack on Suruç on 20 July 2015. On 6 January 2015, a suicide attack was carried out in Istanbul by a person linked to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant. 28 people died in the first attack and 31 in the second one, making those attacks the deadliest suicide attacks in the country at that time. On 20 November, the same organization attacked two different targets in Istanbul using the same method, again with a few minutes apart. On 15 November 2003, Al-Qaeda organized its first suicide attack in the country, using bomb-laden vehicles on two separate targets in Istanbul and targeted places of worship for the first time. The Revolutionary People's Liberation Party/Front organized its first suicide attack on 3 January 2001 in Istanbul. While female assailants were used in the first 7 suicide attacks carried out by PKK members, male suicide attackers began to carry out attacks starting on 20 March 1999 with the attack in Başkale. In the attack organized by a PKK member in Van on 24 December 1998, for the first time a child died from such an attack in the country. On 1 December 1998, for the first time, a place where civilians were concentrated was targeted in the attack organized by a PKK assailant on the market in Lice. On 25 October 1996, a civilian died in Adana for the first time in the second suicide attack carried out by the PKK that targeted the police. The attack targeting military personnel resulted in the death of 8 military personnel. The first suicide attack in the country was carried out by the PKK in Tunceli on 30 June 1996. In addition to these attacks, a total of three attempted attacks, two by PKK and one by Revolutionary People's Liberation Party/Front, were not successfully carried out and the assailants lost their lives following the explosion of the explosives. 15 Suicide attacks have occurred in Istanbul, followed by 6 in Hakkâri, 5 in Ankara, 4 in Adana and Gaziantep, 3 in Van, 2 in Bingöl, Diyarbakır and Kayseri, and 1 in Ağrı, Antalya, Bursa, Elazığ, Sivas, Şanlıurfa, Şırnak and Tunceli. The assailants who carried out these attacks - except the one on 9 March 2003 and another on - all lost their lives, and a total of 593 people including 37 assailants were killed. Throughout the film, Shut In makes these overt Biblical allusions. One of the nails goes through Jessica’s hand, and she looks down at her bloody hand, and then up at the crucifix nailed above the door, just to make sure we catch the symbolism. At first, her ex-husband helps her, but soon they get in a fight and he puts her back in the pantry, nailing it shut for good measure. Meanwhile, her ex-husband ( Jake Horowitz) shows up, accompanied by his meth buddy, a convicted child molester played by Vincent Gallo. Jessica spends the next 57 minutes of screen time inside the pantry. Did Hollywood really need help releasing middling thrillers in February? That’s right, given the opportunity to finally stick it to those phony moralists in Hollywood, The Daily Wire’s first play was to finance a poor man’s 127 Hours or Buried(which already sucked). Soon Jessica manages to accidentally lock herself inside the pantry, and after about 10 straight minutes of Jessica inside, it started to dawn on me what I was watching: a good old-fashioned single-location thriller. “Lainey, these apples are rotten,” Jessica tells her, over the fourth or fifth straight close-up of a rotten apple. She fills her pails with them, emptying them onto a great pile inside, where meemaw used to make apple butter. Night Shyamalan school of obnoxious children, spends most of her time collecting apples. In fact, lots of this movie consists of characters operatically narrating their own actions. She’s living there with her infant son and fantastically unhelpful daughter (this will become important later), Lainey, whose name Qualley will bellow throughout the film, really utilizing those pop music pipes. The story, by first-time screenwriter Melanie Toast (whose name I can’t read without laughing) follows Jessica (Qualley), a struggling single mom in a skimpy tank top (Dear Penthouse…) who is newly sober and living in a rustic farmhouse she’s just inherited from her mother. Which gives Shut In the flavor of a real Hollywood production, distinctly lacking the flat lighting and corny compositions that characterize your typical faith-based films, which are probably shot by someone who cut their teeth staging megachurch live shows. If my goal had been to avoid having politics shoved down my throat like Jeremy Boreing claimed, so far it was going terribly.Īs the movie begins, it becomes clear that, whatever else you might say about DJ Caruso, veteran director of xXx: The Return Of Xander Cage, I Am Number Four, Eagle Eye, Disturbia, and a legitimate favorite of mine, The Salton Sea, he does have a visual style. I narrowly avoided spending $144 on this movie, having to go back a page to toggle a slider to be billed “weekly” rather than “yearly.” In so doing, I missed out on a golden opportunity to own a truly iconic “ leftist tears” tumbler. Attempting to watch it the non-industry insider way, I went directly to the DailyWire site, where I was forced to click the “stand with us” button under a giant banner image of scowling nerds. I reached out for a screener via the email that kept sending me the Daily Wire’s press releases, but never received a response. Watching a movie starring a second-generation celebrity and the bad boy of 90s auteurism seemed like a weird way to stick it to Hollyweird, but at least it was a combination strange enough to be intriguing. Shut In stars Rainey Qualley - sister of The Leftovers star Margaret Qualley, daughter of Andie MacDowell, and a pop singer performing under the name Rainsford - and Vincent Gallo, an experimental director perhaps best known for shooting an unsimulated oral sex scene with Chloe Sevigny in Brown Bunny. Of course, he said this in the same breath as “If you’re fed-up with the cultural edicts of our country’s self-appointed moral overlords in Hollywood and legacy media, stay tuned,” and this convoluted, we’re-going-to-remain-apolitical-to-own-the-libs approach seems to define Shut In, a politically apolitical thriller at war with itself and appealing to no one. Of their movie offerings, Shapiro’s partner Jeremy Boreing assured Deadline in January of last year, “We will make great entertainment that all Americans can enjoy, regardless of their political views.” It was intriguing because while Shut In appears to be a straightforward thriller from an established director, The Daily Wire is the right wing media company co-founded by reactionary dorklet Ben Shapiro, whose nasal drone can be heard blaring from speakers all across the nation, railing against woke-nized Disney cartoons that he can hardly bear to jack off to anymore or whatever. Back in August, The Daily Wire announced that they had wrapped production on their first original film, Shut In, a thriller from Disturbia director DJ Caruso. One detail that they didn't address did leave me a bit peeved, but my mind made a connection with another story aspect that I could guess was the answer. While these details didn't sour the complete story for me (hence the 9), they might sour it for someone else. After watching the ending, I was left with some unanswered questions regarding some of the details here. Now that I've mentioned the good, let's talk about why I couldn't give this aspect a perfect 10. I never know what I'm going to see when watching something like this. For me, that's one of the best aspects of this story is those little plot twists. I was left gasping like fish more than once here. You'll also need to be paying close attention to all the plot twists! These little suckers come out of NOWHERE and twist the story into a completely different direction that one would expect. This is a thinking anime that touches on a ton of dark and deep issues. I wouldn't recommend this show if you're just looking for some simple anime that would kill an afternoon. I'll definitely have to do some re-watching to get all the little nuances and plot points down. There's just so much depth, and it's so cerebral. The story of this show is something else. I'm sad to see it end 'cause I want more of this world, but, on the other hand, I'm glad it's got a definitive ending and isn't really leaving us cliff-hanging. those there, though, this anime is one of the best things I've seen in a while, even better than Hikaru no Go which had be so wrapped up spring break. This would be my first review to be an absolute 10 in score if there weren't just a few unanswered questions and assumed understanding after everything was said and done. It's got beautiful and THICK plot, hidden meanings, a GORGEOUS musical score, wonderful and zany characters, and enough emotional hitting power to make me keep a tissue box handy for those sad and happy tears. Holy flippin' A!!! Where to even begin with this anime?! There is so much here that I look for in an anime I even added it to my favorites list before I was even done watching. Oh, a big annoyance is not being able to copy the IP address and add it immediately to the exception list. If I wanted to be really sure, I would have to request that PIA validated each of the IP address individually because my software could be infected and allowing all traffic coming from these file and folder locations makes my computer a risk now. Since your exception list is ignoring my files and folders within PIA I am assuming you want me to add each individual IP address to the list? I am not sure if that is the case but I am only adding the IP's that have a direct path to PIA. How am I supposed to decide if it is a legitimate issue or not? I don't even know what constitutes as a System file and am certainly not going to allow/block all outbound traffic for Windows 11. I am assuming every IP is a potential website? They get flagged by have no information to what System file is trying to make an outbound call. The new ones that I am noticing are coming from System, which is a little more concerning if they all didn't have Blocked website as an action. The fact that you have labeled an outbound call specially as malware, knowing that this is false, doesn't give me a lot of confidence in your software. I do noticed that when I put in the exception of file location C:\Program Files\Private Internet Access\pia-serivice.exe that Malwarebytes simply ignores because I still see the path in history. I have added the files and folders to the exception list (image below) at PIA's recommendation because I am not the only customer who has inquired about this issue but I still receive messages that they are Compromised or Malware. They also informed me that they have provided Malwarebytes with a list of IP address that should be whitelisted to avoid this problem but as I use your Premium version, have not done so. I have been assured by PIA that neither of these is true. My issue is that Real Time Protection (RTP) is blocking my Private Internet Access outbound calls that the program performs and labels them as being Compromised or Malware. You did grab my computer name in your history but I will live. It kind of rubbed me the way at first but realize I didn't have to put in an email address to try it. Endpoint Detection & Response for ServersĪfter I was forced to install the Premium version of Malwarebytes, yes, forced, as there is no option of being able to use it without trying it for two weeks. Even though Wilhelm had checked out what to say and more especially what not to say during the interview, Bülow felt it was an unwise move as the emperor would have had no final say on how the newspaper presented what he said. The only time Bülow fell out with the Kaiser came in 1908 when Wilhelm II gave an interview to the ‘Daily Telegraph’. Wilhelm II also wanted his country to epitomise greatness and Bülow was expected to push this with regards to foreign policy. He was in office at a time when nationalism was enthusiastically embraced by many in Germany and especially in the Reichstag. This belief was further boosted when he turned down a projected alliance with Great Britain and lambasted Joseph Chamberlain in the Reichstag.īülow was also loyal to Wilhelm II, agreeing with the Kaiser on most issues – though the only time they clashed led to Bülow’s resignation.īülow achieved what was seen as his first success in 1898 when Germany annexed Kiaochow in the Far East. However, other nations viewed this distinct lack of faith in alliances (at a time when many of the other European powers were signing into them) as a sign that Bülow could not be trusted. This is why Bülow wanted to remain free of binding alliances. Austria declared war on Serbia Russia came to the assistance of Serbia fearing that France would fulfil her part in the Triple Entente Germany had to execute the Schlieffen Plan over an event she had no control over and one which actually did not directly threaten Germany. In one sense this was prophetic as when the troubles between Austro-Hungary and Serbia started Germany’s influence was minimal. He did not want the nation’s hands tied to alliances as he believed that he would have little or no control or influence over other members of that alliance. His primary desire was to keep Germany free from alliances. But he could also be aggressive when it came to negotiations, especially if those negotiations revolved around what was best for Germany. They found Bülow to be a charming and plausible man as would befit a man who had spent years in the diplomatic service. In June 1897 he was appointed state secretary at the German Foreign Ministry and it was in this position that he became well known among other European foreign ministers. (age 79) Klein-Flottbeck, Hamburg, Germanyīülow spent his formative years in the Prussian court before joining the diplomatic service in 1874. The release of iOS 4.2.1 brought compatibility to the original iPad and was the final release supported on the iPhone 3G and 2nd generation iPod Touch due to significant performance issues. This was also the first major release to be free of charge for iPod Touch users. For example, both devices lacked multitasking, and the ability to set a custom home screen wallpaper. The iPhone 3G and the second generation iPod Touch were capable of running iOS 4, but had more limited features. With this release, Apple dropped support for the original iPhone and the first generation iPod Touch, which is the first time Apple had dropped support for any device in an iOS release. IPhone OS 1.1 was the first version supported by the first generation iPod Touch. It also lacked support for third-party native apps, and only supported web apps, which was criticized by reviewers and developers, including John Carmack. IPhone OS 1 was criticized for its lack of support for Adobe Flash web content, copy and paste, and Bluetooth stereo headphones. A number of different user interfaces were prototyped, including one that involved a multi-touch click-wheel. Many on the team were skeptical of the feasibility of a touchscreen keyboard, and believed that users would prefer hardware keyboards. During the development phase of iPhone OS 1, "probably 16, 17 different concepts" were developed. No official name was given when the iPhone was released, and Steve Jobs just said "iPhone runs OS X". Some of the key features of Mac OS X 10.0 included the Aqua user interface, which introduced translucent menus, drop shadows, and other visual effects the Dock, a new way of launching and switching between applications and a new file system called HFS+. The release was met with mixed reviews, with some users praising the new features and stability, while others criticized the lack of compatibility with older Mac applications. Mac OS X 10.0 was released to the public on March 24, 2001, after several months of beta testing. The development team faced significant challenges in merging the classic Mac OS with the new Unix-based architecture, as well as in creating a modern user interface that would be familiar to Mac users. The initial development of Mac OS X was led by Avie Tevanian, who had previously worked at NeXT and had played a key role in the development of NeXTSTEP. The development of Mac OS X 10.0 began in 1998, after Apple acquired NeXT Computer, which was founded by Steve Jobs after he left Apple in the mid-1980s. Six months after its release, Mac OS X 10.0 was succeeded by Mac OS X 10.1, code named Puma. This was important for compatibility reasons while many Mac OS 9 applications could be run under Mac OS X in the Classic environment, some, such as applications that directly accessed hardware, could only run under Mac OS 9. The core components of Mac OS X were open sourced as Darwin.īoxed releases of Mac OS X 10.0 also included a copy of Mac OS 9.1, which can be installed alongside Mac OS X 10.0, through the means of dual booting (which meant that reboots are required for switching between the two OSes). Many technologies were ported from the classic Mac OS, including Sherlock and the QuickTime framework. It introduced the Quartz graphics rendering engine for hardware-accelerated animations. It was derived from NeXTSTEP and FreeBSD, and featured a new user interface called Aqua, as well as improved stability and security due to its new Unix foundations. Mac OS X was Apple's successor to the classic Mac OS. It was released on March 24, 2001, for a price of $129 after a public beta. I have the same problem that jgerman mentioned whether I launch from the xterm or add it to X11's Application menu: I get that dialog box with just an "OK" button and no other way to close that box, and then Inkscape immediately exits after I click "OK." Using "top" simultaneously in a Mac terminal window, I watched the process launch and run as long as the dialog box was there, and then the process exited immediately when I clicked "OK" in the dialog box. I have loved Inkscape for a long time on my Foresight Linux system, but I'm frustrated that after my company moved me to using a MacBook Pro with Leopard (10.5) I'm having the aforementioned problems opening Inkscape with X11.
